When I first started the saw it ran poorly even with a new kit. Then I remembered that the HDA 199 would sometimes have run issues due to a weak pulse system. @tree monkey has a fix and it is very simple, once you make sure the kit is correct and is installed correctly you just drill a hole in the top cover, no more issues.

And here is a link to the video with the fix.

great thread Joe :)
Them 199's, when I have little time I use one top cover from another walbro carb.

Yes they did, this one had the update kit on it, but the earlier ones had the plastic clamp.
them plastic clamps is probleby the worse patent Husky ever done, 357 autodecomp and the 345/346 bellow inside a top five list after my opinion!!

I also now have more respect for my older 257 that continues to run and run. I especially like the fuel economy of it and my 353. These saws seem to operate forever on a tank of fuel. I sometimes need a break in the action before the saw needs more fuel. Maybe air injection has something to do with that.

Anyway, I'm keeping this thread in a special place for any future Husky work as the need arises. Two thumbs up!:campeon:

Those two fuel lines rub together at that penetration and will develop a flat spot and eventually a hole in them. I was chasing an intermittent lean issue with my 2159 before I found the hole in the gas line. It was a very tiny hole because the rubber was just wearing through and causing air to break the siphon. I didn't find it until ibpulled on the hose a little and it tore open. Just a future FYI.

Quick fix, put a bit of rtv black between them as you assemble, it will dry and keep them moving together instead of against each other

Gotta love chaffing, something I always look out for on everything I work on. Habit from working on fighter jets.
