Looking for a saw in excellent to new, unmodified condition. Thanks
Thanks Josh
Thanks, nothing in excellent condition and unmodified, but I do have modified and good condition. The way I see some describe saws they might think they are mint lol.

Which stihl. Thanks Chipper. I am looking for a stock model as I have never run a Husky and am wanting to see how it compares to my Stihl.
You can buy a new carbed 261.Currently running a stock(does have a WT194 & muffler mod) 026 pro I purchased new back in 2002. I suppose I could try a 261cm, but really am trying to stay away from any solenoid operated carb.
Everyone gives the 346 high praise so I figured why not.
I believe the carburetor version weighs a pound more than the 346xp
Not the newest type 2 261 with new clutch cover. Aso come in carb. Just seen one elsewhere used for 350.
T2 261 weighs in 10 range while 346 550 in 11 range.
A stock 346 has more torque and rpm than a stock 026/260. The 261 has more torque and holds better speed in the cut than a stock 346. Once you delimit carbs and open Mufflers the 346 and 261 run away from the earlier 026/260.
The best porting will put more torque in the 261 corner,

So a 346 is better for limbing up to 8", 261 has more guts for felling and medium
bucking. Both are top notch machines. The 3rd version 261 is available (and cheaper) with an adjustable Zama (not the best) carb. Parts and maintenance will be more expensive for the 261.
The 550xp is unknown to me personally, but it's reputation is similar to a 261. I don't believe it comes with an adjustable carb option. They are potentially even more spendy when parts an maintenance are needed, as more dealer support is required for carb issues.
346 in good condition carries a high price for a 10 year old saw. V1 261 could almost certainly be found cheaper.
My saws are ugly and ported, but I have several 026/260/261 and 346. PM me if you want to buy one. The 2152 mentioned above is probably more what you're after.
