The site has been hurting for build threads lately, so I thought I would document what is a standard job for a dealer. We all know how failure prone the intake clamp is on the 340/345/350/351/353/346/357/359 and this is what it takes to replace one on the "junk" saws.

Partially disassembled and initial cleaning.

That saw is really clean. Did you just blow it off with air or what? If it weren’t for the rust on the muffler and some little stuff on the top handle, I might assume it looks new.

Make sure your ground strap is in good shape, and if you choose to remove the coil do not lose it.

Getting the carb off is easy, first, pop the retainer wire out of its catch.

Mash the trigger.

Hold the throttle shaft and release the trigger, pop the linkage out.

Remove the throttle rod and bellows.

Slide everything in at an angle and get the screws started.
