So I decided to put the saw back together. Advanced the timing a smidge. Repainted the muffler after the mod and refitted a 346xp muffler bracket and painted it. Still waiting on the riser. Gonna match it to a new cylinder (any ideas finding one) IMG_1388.JPGIMG_1390.JPG

You measure on the skirt. Pistons aren't the same size all the way up

Yep I know this :) found out the ball bag who sold me this cylinder kit had tried to remove scoring and transfer from the cylinder and refinish the piston. Nicely finished piston, problem is that it is now .25mm smaller in diameter and sloppy as fook. Cylinder is unusable.

I may have struck some sorta little gold gem here. My uncle picked up a 351G from a farm sale and sent it to me, it is super clean and looks to be a low hours saw. What a nice surprise. So where does the 351 sit in the 50cc 3 series line up? What is the difference between the 351 and 353? It looks to be the same case as the 346's, well I am 95% pretty sure it is. I am guessing a 'pro grade' 50cc open port?

Should be an open port. Same case as the 346. Also doesn't have the muffler bracket. 353 was it's replacement.

Same jug as a 2150 then? I shoulda taken some pictures. It has a muffler bracket, just the one sided one that bolts to the oil cap side of the case.

The 351 I had, had the same cylinder as a 350. I swapped the top end to a 346OE. Only mod I made was an updated intake with a 390 clamp.

This has the metal clamp already. I’m pretty sure from the look of the casting it is an open port. It’s a keeper me thinks..

351 is the same as the 353 but with the top of the piston dished slightly. A new 346xp jug and slug will make it a poor mans 346xp. Awesome score on the G model. The heated handle ones are rare.
