I'm running the el42 on my @t4driller 346. I have a 199 I need to play with more, but that el42 runs so good with it I'm not sure that I want to switch.

Very cool little saws. I was never much of a Husky guy prior to picking one up.

Does anyone know the thread and pitch of the coarse screws that the AV's attach to the tank? I believe they are m5 but I am not sure of the pitch. I have a pulled one at the rear upper mount of the tank. I want to find an insert and try and fix it. Maybe not possible as it is near the tank and may cause a leak. Either it is possible or I will JB weld and set the screw in...

I have used jb weld plastic bond on those screws that are stripped out in tank on my brothers saw. He's uses it quite a bit with no problems.

Like others have said, the el42 carb is realky cheap on eBay. I can't tell a difference between the 199 and el42 performance wise. It tunes in alot nicer also. I don't even mess with the 199s anymore.

I'm 88% positive its the same screw, I think I have a couple of inserts I can check.

I was 12% wrong the anti vibe mount insert is 50327001. It is the larger of the 2 they offer and requires a 7.1mm drill bit. The smaller ones work on the starter screws. These inserts allow you to use OEM hardware.

Right guys on my ‘new’ used 346xp top end what am I looking for across the piston. I measure around 41.74 minimum. It looks like the piston has been refinished. Probs a bit more than I would have done. On the plus side it has come with a new caber ring.

New meteors measure 41.955mm so I have found out. Is this too excessive...

Still waiting on my new piston, muffler bracket and the riser. In the meantime I decided to open out the OEM 340 muffler. Too big for the 346xp??

And a few of it all clean. The 340 starts and runs good. Sounds good with the muffler mod. I think I will shelve the cylinder and piston for a rainy day when it comes off.

I remember that a big crowbar is high in the list too. Makes sense; it's good for bashing as well as opening locked doors, etc.

What a dickhole the 346xp cylinder seller was.. check out these scores, I mean scores and not transfer... had the audacity to sell it as a good clean cylinder..
