I have a ported 359/7 done by Joe Harkness. Any interest? OEM 357 jug ported on a 359 case and crank. Nice wide power band that pulls a 84DL 3/8 nicely.

This is it with a chain from my MMWS 372. Was a bit grabby....

Joe does damn fine work! That’s a saw anyone could be proud to own!

365 a little bigger than what I want. I'm kinda hooked on the ported 50cc saws. I blame Randy for that
No worries, it was worth a shot [emoji106][emoji2369]

Looks very stout. Are the 359 bottom ends better than the 357 or is it just upgrading a 359 by putting 357 top on?
Both saws share the same crank shaft/bottom end. However, the 357xp has stuffers on the crank that moves the peak power higher in the rpm range. They also have a smaller displacement cylinder, but better port timing that favors the higher rpm power range. The 359 has a larger displacement, but much more tame port timing and a very broad power range that comes off as "sluggish." Swapping "stock for stock" putting the 357xp top end on on the 359 bottom with no stuffers, broadens the power range of the 357xp cylinder and makes it less "peaky." The 357xp cylinder also has better port layout and a true quad port transfer design, so it "punches up" the 359 saw a bit. Keeping the added displacement of the 359 top end is favorable in my eyes, if porting is involved. Only one man's opinion of course. That being said, either cylinder will make for a GREAT runner once ported.

@Benwa Can you comment as to 357/9 vs. 026?
I know you asked another's opinion but that's an apples and oranges comparison. 026 doesn't even compare stock to stock.

I concur. As much a I LOVE me an 026, you're talking a sub-50cc saw vs almost 60cc. Even if both are ported well, they're miles apart in my eyes. My ported 026 is still my go to because of its ultra light weight and power, but the 026 never had/never will have the bottom end grunt or pull that the 357/359 have. Hmmmmmm........I might just have to pit them against each other on video for comparison sake.

346 is more of a fair comparison as far as cc goes to the 026, but the 346 is way ahead of the 026 as far as power goes.
