Got my parts from the Husky dealer today.

However I was charged for a dust cover for the oil pump and never got one, didnt realize until I got home. Now the Husqvarna canada ordering site is saying they are N/A. What exactly is the dust cover? Does it go between the bearing and the oil pump? or the oil pump and the case? Neither of my saws seemed to have one.

@Onan18 is there any chance you can see if you can order the dust cover? part number 501 29 25-01

If it’s the same as a 288 I’m pretty sure I have a new one in the garage, I will look tomorrow. If I do you can have it for the cost of shipping.

Same oiler drive parts as a 288. I think I've even used a 394/5 oil pump drive in one before.

Looked in the system, 288 shares oiler parts with the 3120 officially, no mention of 394. Part number is different though 503 49 50-01

Got the low down from the dealer this morning. It seems the dust covers are on backorder. I think I found a super ugly one in my pile of parts. Other than that it seems I may be waiting on it. Going to mexico for a weel tomorrow, so that will buy me some time anyways

Got the new starter rope. Husqvarna still stocks the OEM ROPE. I suggest it. Comes the right length with the fancy plastic stopper

Well it is together. Unfortunately no gas. I have just enough in the tank that I will hopefully be able to tell whether the manual oiler is still leaking or not.

Going to have to get a chain for it. 32" 3/8 0.058 bar with a skip tooth Oregon chain. Pretty sure the skip tooth is not required on this one

No it will pull 32" full comp just fine. If you feel like sharpening that many teeth. Lol.

I know it will. Not sure why it came on it. My 394 was bored with it on there too.

Sharpening is a problem. My 37" bar and chain have been waiting to be sharpened for 2 months

I like to keep the long chains set up in the vise when they need love.
Few teeth here and there when I can and they always end up done.
Setting up with the intent to finish in one sitting on a 114 DL chain is a task.

I have a 50" Cannon bar with a helper handle I will eventually set up on this saw. It needs some fixing up though. Not sure how many drive links that will be, but I am thinking a 4-5 beer job for sure

Why a helper handle? I can lift my 2100 with a 50" GB just fine.

I've seen quite a few loops of .058 chain on eBay. You'll probably have to buy two and put them together.
