Bumper dog, I'm guessing milling might be the reason for these on larger saws??

Man is that saw ever a torque monster. Just put a bar and freshly sharpened chain on it and that thing pulls like a freight train.

I thought I was not going to like the 24" on my 288 and figured I'd end up with a 28".. but after running it a little bit with the 24" I really like it thus far. I also run 24" on my 372

He has a 28" TSB reduced weight on it currently

Got a chance to get a little trigger time on the 181 today. Put three tanks through it. No problems so hopfully all is gonna be good. Just got to figure something out for the one top cover screw is stripped.
Top cover has a crack in it. What you guys do to fix cacks in plastic?

There is a good top cover thread repair thread here somewhere by @Stump Shot . As for the top cover cracks I'm not to sure.

I would definitely try to tap it out to the next size and get a screw from a 390 top cover and use it in that hole just have to drill the top cover a smidge bigger.

281/288 is a damn fine saw for midsize/large wood work.

I love it! It took everything I gave it and just laughed. I've finally got enough run time on it that's waking up. The last time I ran it you could literally feel it almost shift gears in the cut. I've never had a saw come to life like this one did. I smile ear to ear every time I run it.

The 281 is a real slammer. Once I get it buttoned up I'll put some real run time behind her.
