Well that was a bummer. Put that coil part on to replace the broken one and still wont run. It has very weak spark. Can only see it if you pull real hard. Guess i need the coil at the flywheel?
Is ther anything inbehind the flywheel that has to do with spark?

Early 181s take the smaller 503 26 02-04 Seal on the flywheel side, this is the same seal that is used on the 61/272 chassis. The later 181s and all of the 281s and 288s use the larger 503 26 02-05 seal for the flywheel side and all saws on this chassis use the 05 for the clutch side. Also, the larger seal is the same one used in the 394/395 as well as the 2100 family.
That B why duece88s hold up!

Finally got around to putting the coil on my 181. Dribbled some fuel down carb and she lit rite up. Now i got to order some antivibe bushings and replace them. Get a bar and chain or i think i can run my stihl bar with an adapter?

They few seconds it ran it sounded pretty darn good.

I forgot to mention in my 288 thread and I gotta say, so far I like the feel of 4 av springs in the rear with 2 rubbers and the front spring up front. Now I haven't used the 288 much yet, but nothing jumped out at me as being undesirable about that config.
