It's hard for to resist cheap and running OPE, even if it's not proline. My latest econo-weedeater, a Husky 128CD for $50.00 from a local classified. Some fresh fuel and a little carb adjustment and it runs great. Yes, my garage floor is really dirty.

Sweet, didn't realize this but there are quite a few attachments available for this including a brushcutter and the ever popular chainsaw on a stick!

Used the 128 for about 40 minutes after work today. After some run time it really came into its own, was powering through some overgrown stuff that hadn't been touched for months no problem. I think it will handle the brushcutter attachment just fine, the 28cc old tech engine feels low revving and torquey compared to my usual Japanese weedeaters. Gonna do a muffler mod to it at some point too.

Found an NIB Poulan brushcutter attachment on Fleabay and ordered it. The unit showed up today and fits perfectly. Soaking wet today so I couldnt try it out, but I did start and run it some. The 28cc engine of the 128 seems to handle it just fine, better than the Echo SRM-225 I had when I tried a blade on it. Will post a pic when it's brighter outside.

Have you used this some more & still running well? Good thread on your thoughts of machine. I have found Ryobi, Poulan Pro, & Troy-Bilt attachments to all fit & match the Husqvarna.

Yes, I've used it a couple of times. It cuts through overgrown stuff no problem at all. A bike handle would be more comfortable to use for long periods, but for what little I paid I am quite happy with it!

Yes, with brush cutting or tall briars and several hours of use I like the bike handle too. For just landscape/yard grass trimming I like the loop handle for maneuvering obstacles though. Good reason to have multiple trimmers...just like multiple saws.
