bought a farm tec cylinder kit. seller says it is a 272 kit. i measure the piston on the saw and it was 52mm. one in kit measures 47mm. anyone have any info on this or has anyone run into this with a farm tec 272 cyinder kit

Only one I know of that's 47mm is a 362xp

If it fits the same cases and its 47 mm it could be for a 162, 61 or 266, i think some of them were that small.

162 and 61 are 48mm. 266 and 268 are 50mm and 272 is 52mm. The 162 was closed port and the 61 was open. 266, early 268 and 272 were closed port and the later 268 was open port. All these have the more traditional port window in cylinder design (if closed port). The 362, 365 and 372 have the port into crankcase design. My guess is that you will have a 61 cylinder and that it is actually 48mm. Often the Chinese cylinder kits are marketed as 61,266,268,272 as they share the same basic crankcase and so the one set of cases can run the three sizes of cylinder (early 2 piece ignition case slightly different to later one piece ignition cases but same basic design.

Hi. 1mm seems to me too much for a Chinese piston, some model dolmar (120) and stihl (361) I think Alpina also used that measure
