A 25” ES light is pretty dead nuts level with a wet power head. Both tanks empty, it’s tipped very slightly to the nose. It actually “feels” slightly lighter to me with the 25” es light versus the 20” es light. Obviously is not, but the balance is sweet.

I have the smaller 1122 spikes (which did take some grinding to fit the outer) on my mtronic one with a 25” es light and the stock small dual spikes and 20” es light on my standard carbed one. Can’t go wrong either way.
Which small 1122 spikes u mean?

Those are the stock 462 small dual spikes. I have them on mine with the 20”. I have these on the one with the 25. They’re from 1122 series saws.

064 standard dogs and roller catch... looks perfect. I’d do what you did and a west coast clutch cover if I owned this particular saw.

Be interesting to see how these toy clutch covers hold up with the big dawgs. Used to be Stihl put a 70cc sized clutch cover on a 50cc saw now they are putting a 50cc sized cover on a 70cc.

The big clutch cover is nearly the same, only the bottom is longer.
The dirty one is standart, clean one west cost or big cover

That west coast one is a no brainer then if someone is looking to upgrade. (Looks better too imho).

Here’s the big question are those dawgs going to actually grab in thick bark? If they’re like the old 66 and 64 dawgs you’ll be peeling the bark off just to dawg in.

I can’t comment about that, trees and logging are definitely different here. Bark isn’t as thick and trees are smaller here usually. The wood is a lot harder though, sometimes with too aggressive spikes they stall the saw too easy (too much leverage). I just want them to be large enough to bite enough in a big oak with a lot of flare on the butt. The stock single small dog would definitely be insufficient for your cutting out west, I can predict that.

This set actually came with the standard carb 661 I bought from Alfa Dan recently. I was kinda surprised to see this style on it from the factory. I put a set of 661r spikes on it and moved these onto the 462. I run these on my 440 and modified a set for my 460 too. Overall one of my favorite spikes for what we have to cut around here.
