Is there a better coil than factory
For a 450? I didn't know if there was an unlimited one?

I HOPE so. Had a 450 whip me for months. spark checkers showed good spark. would run for seconds then shut off just like a carb issue. Replaced $20 coil runs great. Same coil on 435,440,445,450. Worked on six of this series had 2 bad coils that showed cranking spark. Its like when it advances it shorts out.

Holy Batman Bob, You stay up a few late nights figuring all this out.
Nice info although I don't usually work on to many modern saws.

Would you happen to have similar info for big Mccullochs. :D

No late nights, just plenty of long days. That's what happens when you're immersed in this stuff all the time.

I did meet a guy 7-8 years ago, then working for Carlton, but used to work for McCulloch. Knew everything about the saws and the company. Don't remember any of it but he did tell me about the Mac ignitions and why they are unique from most othetr stuff. He's your guy. :)

EHP put a regular carb on a 562. 365xt carb in thread https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/husqvarna/ported-562xp/msg21312/#msg21312

its got a carb off the 365 xt on it with it getting fuel in all 3 intake ports , porting is just woodsporting in the motor but it sure makes a ton of torque and yes it has zero throttle bog like the factory saws have

@Spike60 do the 576 13.3k coils have a more aggressive advance like the xtorq coil?

Hello!
Would a 357xp black coil fit a 372xp or 390xp?
I have a friend who's selling a 357xp black coil and I would like to buy it.
Here are some pics, not the best, hope someone can help me!
Thank's!

I have a husky 55 coil in the garage. Different part number, but it looks the same as a 268 coil. Can anyone tell me if it'll work? Timing curves similar?

Generally it's true that if it fits, it fits. Bob eluded to some slight physical differences on the 3-series coils but more about flywheel size than anything. I have a black 359 coil in my 372 and the original blue 372 coil in my 359 and they both work fine.

Not sure Mason, but will have to look through the ILP updates to see. They usually explain tye reason for a part change. But the 576 AT uses a totally different coil than the regular igniton 576. 575 AT really has to have it's own coil.

I have one of the 575/576 non autotune coils on 385 and seems to work well

That should work just fine. Rev limiter would be a little higher, but everyone seems to like that. :)
That’s why I put it in there :). Better than 13k one. It had a black coil but I put that on the 372.

So what would be the “best” coil to run on a woods ported 2065/372 52mm FrankenSaw with the original 2065 flywheel and RWJ4 carb and MM?
