So I picked this husky 395 up as a project knowing it leaked gas ..come to find it must have took a shot and the limiter screw went up threw the handle slot .
What's your thoughts on repair ?
I was browsing some YouTube vids and found a crazy glue/baking soda repair that seemed to work good .
Anyone ever use this method ?
Or maybe try and melt it back together?
Jb weld doesn't seem to be a good option for longevity....I'd rather try a repair before buying a new tank first .
Thanks
Ernie

That’s what I tried, started with a pinhole that wasn’t really visible, ended with a hole big enough to stick a pencil into. Decided my plastic welding abilities suck and jb welded some window screen on it. Seems to be holding,, it’s on the oil side so maybe I’ll get lucky.

I tried welding it back together and it's not working very well ...I used a piece of plastic from a junk 372 cover I had lying around.

I'm thinking I'm gonna be in the market for a replacement

I think you didn't weld it deep enough to mix the tank and the added plastic together? It's like welding steel you need a pool of molten material and.. Well, I'm not a good welder.

This. A chunk and a tank will be hard to melt together. Try with trimmer string. Make sure the two plastics melt together…some plastics don’t jive with others.

Well after a few more attempts I was able to get it sealed up .
I had to get rite down in there as suggested and work my way out with a doner piece of plastic from a 372 cover using it like a welding rod to build it back up ....worked great 👍
I appreciate the help !
