I will drop into the local Husky dealer and order an o ring
I also want to replace the little rubber but that holds the oil pump pipe in the pump.

If you guys in the states are thinking its a good price for a 372 then its half price in Australia!
I will chase it

Pretty good looking saw for its age. IDK exactly when they redesigned the recoil screens and the older style like on that saw went away, but it was a good while ago. I would expect to see that saw priced right in the ballpark of what you stated here.

That 372 is an oldie... but it looks as if its had little use. Check the chain catcher for wear and the front of the chassis for paint loss. Will give you an idea of how much its been used. :)

if you like this 371 I am pretty sure you will like the rest of huskies pro saws, even 550 is workable.
Since you do full rebuild I doubt you will get into any trouble, the only thing you need to pay attention to is this silly little o-ring that you find on PTO side.
Matt have a great video about that issue.

Where do oring go ?

I am really impressed with the air feed design to the air filter using the flywheel like a turbo.
The one I am re-building had this passage about 30% blocked by oil and gunk but I am replacing seals to stop a suspected oil leak from the pump outlet
Either it leaks or these huskies oil like a *b-word!...... as I have read they do.

It was set to about 60% open with a 20" bar

what should it be set to on these with a 20" bar?
It was completely coated in sticky oil...... which has preserved it well but it also clogs everything up
