I’ve got a friend with a 350 that’s got some troubles and he inquired about having me putting a 346xp upgrade to it that he read about somewhere. Anyone got any input, or have tried it? I m guessing a p/c change as well as exhaust and intake modifications?

No problem and it's on one of the last pages where some 346 conversion info is. And remember oem p/c are dirt cheap.

I planned on getting oe parts, especially since there’s a chance the saw might take up new residence in the J. Dirt stable :aplastao:
Not to mention I don’t want to send out bad work either!

I am in the midst of doing one right now. The bearing support/lower base whatever you want to call it can be found for cheap on ebay. I think i paid $7.50 for one. Should have bought 2

Any pics of the lower half of the saw? I’m kind of confused as to when/what saws have a base or riser plate needed. I was under the impression a 350>346 was direct swap with a little grinding for the impulse.

Think I just answered my own question with a bit of research. The 350 bearing cap is able to take the 346 cylinder directly with a bit of grind for the impulse.
The 340/345 is a clamshell saw and needs the bearing cap from a 350 to replace the lower bearing cap of the 340/345 and accept the 346 cylinder.?

Yes and the cap needs the little passage made for the impulse signal.

Well if I get into building it I’ll keep everyone up to date! In the meantime I might look for my own blown up 350 :pesas:
