Can I take a carb from an NE 346 (primer bulb) and run it on this 350 (no primer)?
Seems all I would really have to do is block the primer nozzle like this?

Am I way off base here?

How the hell does this happen?
I ordered a new AV mount. The threads in the tank appear to hold a "good" bolt regardless of the egg shaped appearance.
I'll probably put some JB in there for good measure.

with new threads.... you shouldn't need much at all, but if its really stripped out in the tank, then maybe jb weld might be the ticket... depends on the condition of the tank

I just did this for my dads saw, same problem... and I used 1184 on it, just cause... the tank wasn't that stripped....but I didn't fully trust it.

if the tank is really messed up, someone posted a plastic fix a while ago... something about melting string trimmer line into the hole....

The av screw thing....happened to my friend while I was there. The screw threads were slightly loose. He got it pinched and yanked either up or out and the throttle quit working. I tore it apart and found the same thing, but the screw threads were still intact. On yours, they may have had to lengthen the throttle rod to keep running it like that for awhile

well, this is a particular problem on the 350's...and why you never ever tie a lanyard on a 350 by its tank handle... if the av is loose, the throttle can get stuck full open.... very bad

I have an arborist buddy who climbs with a 346.
Can't get him to understand that the tank & AV system wasn't designed to be suspended from a lanyard.
Yet he *b-wordes and complains that the throttle gets sticky and catches.......

the throttle rod is very dependent on an av system that is 100% tight. its a weakness in the design... for sure

This saw belongs to Shauna's younger cousin.
He's a great kid.
Just turned 25.
He did mention the saw would idle high and chain would creep.
After seeing where the L & Idle were set and now finding this.....I see why.
Supposedly he just had the carb rebuilt by a local "mechanic" and he couldn't get it to idle down
