Nice
New deer rifle ?
They made straight wall cartridges legal in Iowa last year so lots of guys getting 450 and 45-70.

Buddy sent me this, made me chuckle

Yes, it's goin to be my woods/walking gun. It's short, light, and fast pointing. Put a 2-7 Nikon on it. Hopefully I'll get a chance at a bear this year too and I figure it's plenty medicine for them.

Plus the boss lady says if I keep busting my ass and lose 100# she'll send me on a hunt, which could be in a state that only allows straight wall cases.:sniper:

I'm down 40 so far, been goin to the gym 3 days a week n completely changed my diet...a strong support system at home and a couple awesome guys at the gym help. To hit my goal I'll have to lose 122# total. Keep up the good work!

Very nice. A Ruger American in .30-30 would be a must buy for me as I love the cartridge and already have 4 lever actions. Remington 788's so chambered command serious money, so the demand is there. Even the cheapo Savage/Stevens fetch $300.00 or so.

It sure is, I was always against the gym but a friend owns it and talked me into goin. Been doin classes which I find to be better than wondering aimlessly and I actually enjoy it most days. Making the time to get there is the hardest part I've found.FB_IMG_1531701477771.jpg

Conventional wisdom holds that Marlins do best with 150's, Winchesters 170's. I've always found that every gun is a case study in itself and you need to try as many options as possible. The load I quoted is a little slower than factory, probably by 150fps. I find that most rifle cartridges are more accurate when you ease back on the throttle a bit, and this one is an honest inch load out of my 1967 Glenfield 30.

Haha thanks, couldn't miss her, standing out at 150m looking dead on, copped it between the eyes.
We have a bounty here, which requires the scalp to be handed in, that one was messy.
