I'm hard on files, it's not worth the time to ship em in trade, I go through em pretty quick
Do you send yours to get sharpened once they are dull? I've been told by john and a couple others it's very cheap to have them done.

I have 4 square chains
Your all set to go then. Get yourself sone files and go to town.. it was alot easier for me to follow the angles of a chain that was already square ground. You can sorta train yourself to follow the angles so you know how to hold the file correctly. Also get the best files you can get. Post up pics of your work and the pros can tell you yay or nay. Lol

The angle I file .025-.030 seems to feed best on my last chain test. Does anyone think the angles affect the best raker hight? Or does it not matter much

I got a couple at .019.

That side beak is something you can employ for softer wood and big power.
Other than that, I try to get as close to perfect intersecting lines through the working corner.

Hardwood will take care of that little beak. In softwood some guys put a small beak on them.
