How to square file

They are touchy, gotta file inside out. Hard to get the same angle as filling from outside in.


Not sure what you mean. If I had a diamond file for square file I'd just regular file then follow up with the diamond file to finish. Don't see an issue with filing the same direction with a diamond
file... maybe I'm missing something.

Got all lathered up a few months ago and started square filing. Combination of being busy and getting frustrated I had to set it down for a while. I seem to get a more defined side plate with the double bevel than the chisel bit file. It must be part of the learning curve. Anyway here’s a couple of pics. these are older loops of 72 I started playing with. First pic is done with a double bevel
