If this advice comes for me. Thank you very much. I ll buy an Oregon brand chain. Should i order full chisel or something else? I m talking about 3/8 0.63 for a start afterwards i ll go for the 325

Yes it was for you. Yes you need full chisel for square.

In my country i m limited to brand availability so other than Stihl which i use is Oregon.
So starting with that and see how it works

Got a loop of Archer .404 chain the other week, and started converting it to square tonight. Definitely has an interesting grind from the factory. Pretty hard on the files too.



Better, but not perfect. We’ll see how this cuts before I continue.

Also just finished up a loop of Carlton K1L .325 chain. Very hard on the files, at least for me. Also tight to get the file in the right spot. Not sure I’m very happy with this one.

This is only a short 20” loop Jeff, so I figured it could be fun to try on saws around 80cc and up. See how they all do with it. I have a 24” bar and chain in .404 as well, but that chain was factory square, so no need for me to do much yet.
