Gonna start calling you The Oracle...hi mikeCrank doesn't like high rpm. 12k limited are fine.
Thanks mate. Just for future reference, how did you work that out please? It’s a 1991. I don’t know much about the 3120 as far as mechanical weaknesses so can’t help you there. @mdavlee might have some useful info.
First digit of the serial number is the last digit of the year produced. Thanks mate. Just for future reference, how did you work that out please?
Thanks for the info. So this saw.........what coil would be in it assuming it is stock? The guy says he hasn't had a problem with it, but I am concerned about this crank issue showing up.Crank doesn't like high rpm. 12k limited are fine.
So how did you know it was 90's build? Not disagreeing (of course) just asking so I can educate myself.First digit of the serial number is the last digit of the year produced.
12k is normally stock over there. They have a 9.6k limiter in some over here that's too low. Bottom end should be fine unless he's got an unlimited on there tuning it up too high. Thanks for the info. Ok thanks again. I will need to check on the coil, but from what I have been told it hasn't been modified in any way. He was using it in a firewood business but has called it quits.12k is normally stock over there. They have a 9.6k limiter in some over here that's too low. Prior to ‘87 saws had silver tags. ‘87-‘96 they used that style serial, with the first number as the year, 97-2006 (i think) they went to a two year date (99, 01 etc) now they use 4 digit year.So how did you know it was 90's build? Not disagreeing (of course) just asking so I can educate myself.
Great stuff! Thank you very much.Prior to ‘87 saws had silver tags. ‘87-‘96 they used that style serial, with the first number as the year, 97-2006 (i think) they went to a two year date (99, 01 etc) now they use 4 digit year.
It's probably close to the same price. Maybe a hundred more. But we haven't done the dance yet. I need to be sure I want it first.I would think $200 more than a similar condition 395.
