Could one of the Husky gurus please let me know how old this saw is, and offer any advice on the 3120. I've heard some things regarding bottom ends. This will be a milling saw if I get it. Thank you.IMG_0097.jpg IMG_0096.jpg

It’s a 1991. I don’t know much about the 3120 as far as mechanical weaknesses so can’t help you there. @mdavlee might have some useful info.
Thanks mate. Just for future reference, how did you work that out please?

Crank doesn't like high rpm. 12k limited are fine.
Thanks for the info. So this saw.........what coil would be in it assuming it is stock? The guy says he hasn't had a problem with it, but I am concerned about this crank issue showing up.

12k is normally stock over there. They have a 9.6k limiter in some over here that's too low. Bottom end should be fine unless he's got an unlimited on there tuning it up too high.

Ok thanks again. I will need to check on the coil, but from what I have been told it hasn't been modified in any way. He was using it in a firewood business but has called it quits.

Are they worth more used than a 395? I really want a 395 to hot up but also like the idea of almost 120cc! Will really only be used for milling, and that will be very infrequent. Just not sure what to do. Can't find a decently priced 395 anywhere at the moment.

So how did you know it was 90's build? Not disagreeing (of course) just asking so I can educate myself.
Prior to ‘87 saws had silver tags. ‘87-‘96 they used that style serial, with the first number as the year, 97-2006 (i think) they went to a two year date (99, 01 etc) now they use 4 digit year.
