How much is a promac 800 worth? I was thinking of buying this off of one of my friends. he has two, this one has a gimp handle but starts easy and runs well. the other has a good handle but carb is in need of some TLC.

when he showed them to me I was like how much for them, and he was like how much you willing to pay??? Fark I have no clue..experts let me know... won't let me pull muffler as of right now, but if i come cash in hand he might.

one this one had a standard wood bar on it the other had a root bar with carbide tipped chain. it also has mods to the cover to allow the dirt/root residue clear easy.

I wouldn't give much for them. $100
is it worth collecting I should say is the better question? (i say this because if as a runner with some cosmetic issues its only worth 1 bill then even cleaned up its not worth much more. )

I just sold a few PM800 models, $250 to $350 for good, clean running saws. All of the ones I sold had at least new rings, seals, carburetor kits, good mufflers, etc.

That one is very interesting as the label says Pro Mac 800 but it does not appear to be the high top that was common on the PM800 line.

Maybe it is just the perspective of the photo? The muffler does look like the PM800 with the large vertical screen. Clutch cover is trashed but you can find a replacement for $50 good used to $80 if you want NOS.

If the piston and cylinder are good, everything else can be found at mostly reasonable prices. If you want a vintage 80+ cc saw that will pull a 28 to 36" bar well, get it for $100 to $150 if you can. If you can get it for less, even better.

I thought the af cover looked different too but didn't want to lead anyone astray with miss information.
