Three loops per bar for each bar that I use. One loop for each bar that I do not use -- I may have to sell that one and the power head that is attached to it. Everybody wants a combo.

You would be surprised at how many times I have used all three loops for a bar when cutting at the job site. I can replace a loop twice as fast as I can sharpen one.

I think you know the answer. But, just in case you don't.....Yes, you have a problem :)

"Hi, My name is Steve and I'm a chainoholic ..."

Here is some of the chain that I have. All these reels are unused. I have other opened reels and lots of individual loops boxes.:confused:o_O

I posted 2 forsale threads and will post more. I need to control my 'problem'.

I don't know how many loops of chain I have new/used but it's a lot (100+)
I will add that I almost never change a chain in the field. I just switch saws if I screw one up.

I do have a good supply of chains that fit bars that I use a lot 20" 24" 28" etc. in case of a natural disaster when we're cleaning up after a tornado or hurricane and then I would be changing chains in the field. Haven't had any "events" near us lately.

I remember when I'd only have a couple of saws and only one or two chain per bar/saw. Chains would not last long and it would be frustrating when you ran out. Nowadays I buy sprockets in 10 packs, files by the dozen, chains by the 100ft roll and have a good 80-100 bars. With at least 5+ chains in rotation for pole saws and main work saws chains last a LOT longer and running out of stuff simply never happens lol. CAD has a bit to do with it too.

Short and simple, I like ONE good-to-as-new-used loop per saw.

I have new NIB spares of course, but one good loop on my saw is all I need!

I do not cut commercially!
I am just a homeowner firewood hack.

Does it matter/count that I have 4 saws and switch them out instead of chains?

I don't wanna be releaved of my card!
What is the minimum loop count I have to use per saw? :(
