I’ve been studying maps (hard copy) of Mo & Iowa trying to determine a good way to avoid DesMoines & I80 silliness by taking 65 or 63 north from highway 36 in Mo.
36 across to 63.
63 pops out about 10-15 miles west of Hosky's farm.

Tips anyone?

I’d rather spend more time on the road than deal with trucks and left lane campers.

Scenic and anxiety free journey is our goal. [emoji108]

Well, I've had Mountain Oysters now for the first time.
Actually pretty good .

Strangely enough, though.
Pasture grass looks pretty appetizing and the cows don't look too bad either.

I thought I was reaching for some cheese curds at a Company event in the Ozarks that my Mo. buddies had put together. Turns out they were turkey nuts. [emoji2961][emoji2961]
The gobbler should have run faster and kept them!

Blessed Easter morning midlanders!

Went to Boonville yesterday to visit Michael in the slammer.

Took 36 east and then 13 south to 70. Pleasant drive with new scenery. Cut out a huge portion of the KC silliness and traffic of 70. [emoji106]

Took 65 north from 70 to 36 on the way back. Not quite as good. 65 has a lot of jig jogs. [emoji57]

Going to Chelsea, Iowa via 63 has appeal given the positive experience of Saturday. [emoji1696]

I absolutely hate driving on 80. [emoji2959]

Highway 5 in southern Iowa is a very good road. Wide and smooth. You could go from MO 136 or 36 to highway 5. Then in Albia IA there is a paved road (137) to Eddyville then 63 North.

Or stay on highway 5 to Knoxville IA then 14 to Newton Iowa. Then highway 6 to 63.
