Racing?

Did they catch anyone or just found it abandoned?
It was abandoned at an apartment complex in North Spfd. It had been sitting for a month. Management had it towed off.
Started cleaning all the thief stink out of it and off of it and found the notice from the complex. Dated 9-14-17. Said it had been sitting a month and it was going to be towed. I reported it missing 8-7-17. I figure they drove a week max. Originally had 3/4 tank of gas. Now has a little under 1\2.
I had alerts on facebook marketplace for it and certain parts I would recognize. Spent nearly every waking hour watching facebook and Craigslist for anything that might pop up.
Heading over to the parts store to get new door locks and ignition lock.
Thank the Lord its back, though.

Missing radio and spare tire.
Good luck with the spare tire, it wouldn't hold air.
Had to put a borrowed battery in it and it fired right up.
Drove it home. Doesn't seem to be any worse off than before.
A little disappointed they didn't put a set of tires on it and replace the clutch, but oh well.
Its back home.
You got it back!

Pilgrimage to Bishops, Perry, Ks. tomorrow for Logmaster parts.

Name your 'look for while I'm at it' stuff.[emoji106]
I need a bunch of fuel and oil cap gaskets for 028, 034, 044, 084. I'll wait till I make it out there, though, because I actually have quite a list that is not yet made up....

Tyra, my granddaughter, who is 15, will get for her 16th birthday next March. She didn't know it had been found. Daughter had her in the front yard discussing home improvement stuff when we drove up in it. She was all kinds of jumping and screaming and crying.
We both hugged and cried.

My first car was a '52 Olds four door.[emoji849]
Dad had a '55 324" we dropped in place of the washed up 303".

Three speed stick. The infamous GM selector trans used in a very few Buicks and Oldsmobiles.[emoji90]
Speed shifts were not an option.[emoji30]

I remember the early automatic transmissions. Pull away from a stop sign, sounded like the fan was pulling it across the intersection.

Anybody got any info on something like this? Wanting to get a chainsaw powered winch for small pulling jobs that is easily portable.
