I have a Honda EU3000 that has started giving me issues. I’m worried it is something in the board, but maybe not.

It starts, idles, and opens up fine unless a load is put on it. Then it falls on its face and dies.

I have checked voltage and have 120ish coming out. Fuel filter, air filter, fuel is all good.

Does anyone have experience with these? Closest Honda generator service place is 2 hours away. I have 2 EU2000 generators that I piggy back now, but I would like to get this one running again for backup around the house.

Have you checked/cleaned the main carb jet?
That’s a typical issue when they sit for awhile.

I agree it sounds like a fuel problem. Honda carbs don't like E85 or sitting for very long with fuel in it. The carb is controlled electronically and since it starts and idles the electronics are probably OK. New carb around $100. I would pull the carb and use an ultrasonic cleaner. Squirting carb cleaner through it usually doesn't work for honda carbs. If fuel was left in it check the filter screen in the tank too.

Thanks. I will try it when I get back home. Camping this week with the family for spring break. I just want to get it running right again. When we dry camp while hunting, I take the two smaller ones since they are easier to handle.
