Here's a puller I made to remove the oil worm gears on a few Husqvarna 55s. Pretty simple in design. Cost was under $7. The only tool required to make it was a 5/8-11 tap.
Parts used were a 3/4 -1/2 reducing coupler, 3/4 - 3/8 bushing , 5/8 x
2 1/2 bolt and a small ball bearing from a junk crank bearing.
The 3/8 side of the bushing needs tapped to match the threads on the bolt. My bolt threads were 5/8-11. No drilling was needed and it rethreaded easily.
Place the bearing in the dimple of the crank to keep from damaging the crank threads
Hold the bushing and tighten the bolt to remove the gear.
