Homelite xl2 air filter

Was putting a pull cord on my homelite and was gonna clean the air filter but cant locate it. Do you gotta pull the fuel tank or something to get to the carb area?

If you can't remove the black plastic cover piece next to the fuel/oil caps, then yes.
Remove engine from housing.

They are kind of a pain in the azz to do anything to .Yes,I have one,freebie of course .

I tuned one up a little for a friend. They were built for the guy that never cleans the air filter / doesn't know they exist.

I've had my share of run ins with these saws. When they run, they run but of they don't you should shoot them. Lol
