Here's a 10.00 junk yard find. A Super XL-925. I don't have but a few homelite's. I got it to pop with some mix so I gave it a good bath. I had the bar and chain, re did the fuel lines, rebuilt the carb and had to swap out the fuel cap because the vent was bad.

I suppose the VI-130 predates a VI-123.

Made the XL-101 type extremely ugly, they did.

I wondered that, being the 130 only has the front handle AV. Could be just a Canadian thing. Truth be told, the 130 can stay a bit of a queen as I prefer the xl-76's rigid stylings/feel. Probably my current, favorite firewood machine.

From what I can tell the XL-76/101 types were designed to replace the XL-12/SXL. But, the very early glued together tank/crankcase and three screw 'magneto backplate' failures doomed the design.

The basic 101 is several pounds lighter and some smaller than a 12.

I have an kit that I bought from the Eastwood Co. years ago.
I blast all of my parts in a blast cabinet and then bake them in a old kitchen oven. Some of the parts that were really pitted I used a filler that is call Lab-Metal high temp before I powdered them.

I like it better than spraying liquid paint. Because I can do it in the garage and don't have to worry so much about the fumes.
The only down fall is the powder will get tracked all over and Mama don't like that to much......
