Intake side I believe. I have two of these pistons on hand. One is scored but checks out full size with the calipers. The second is pretty undersized,44.68 and looks like its been cleaned up previous. I'm thinking that's to loose.
HUH!
Curiouser and curiouser. The Caber 45x1.5 mm rings came in today's mail. Dry fit them to the cylinder no problem. Put them on the piston and try to dry fit that to the cylinder. No go. Even with HL's spring compressor. Either the rings are to wide at 2 mm or the ring grooves in the piston are to shallow.

Good find. I hadn't installed the Cabers I ordered yet...been running the OEM rings which are 1.5MM thick x 1.5MM wide. The Cabers are 1.5MM thick x 1.9MM wide...which no longer makes them a good deal. I don't think that was listed in the description...

At first I thought it needed an air filter.

But, I was wrong.[emoji15]

Mag tank. More likely 575 or 680. Despite the sticker describing the 695 USFS muffler. 575=45mm 680=49mm jug. Dibz, within reason.

I got it from Workshop who got it from Sawnami.

Runs and cuts like one would expect from a 60-70 cc saw.

Spied the sticker you referred to.

Lists it as a 695 on it.

Not going to disturb rusty muffler bolts to measure the bore.[emoji6]

Post a picture of the serial number...

Recoil sticker looks like it said 575.

695 had mag tank as well.

I need to do a longer run/cut test as toward the end yesterday it started shooting ducks (ignition miss). It has a new plug in him.[emoji848]

Parts for a 695 seem to be in rocking horse poop range on evilbay.

Coil might be suspect, I have lots of those.

I asked for a picture of the tag because if it has a "58" in black on it, it is a 575.

Also, on the jug there is a telltale difference between the 45mm and 49mm jugs, but requires some cleaning and disassembly.

This 695(?) needs the muffler outlet thingy.

Too loud even for me. And, violates my 60% of port area rule.

Ran the 695 hard for tank today. Only get the ignition miss coming out of a cut WOT.

Is the coil limited on these?

After 30 years of service, my dad's 680 Shindaiwa started experiencing some ignition issues. Ignition issues on these saws are fairly uncommon. I sent him a spare module which got him going again.

The top could stand to be straightened, but it still looks damn good. He takes exceptional care of his equipment.

It's been 33 years since I bought my C35 brush cutter and it still runs well.
Maybe not the best equipment out there but I'd say it's pretty reliable.

Crank seals for a 575. Anyone know the size off the top of their head. And how hard to swap out are they?
