OE 57cc and 68cc offerings from Shindaiwa. These models were updated and released as the 575 and 695. All were incredible saws in my opinion. They made good power, used premium components, and were built to last.

I am supposed to be getting a 757 and a half. We just haven't hammered out a trade we both like.

This has come to pass. I will soon be in the 757 club.

If your 1/2 saw has a good P&C I would be interested as I have one with a cooked top end.
If it does it's going on the whole one 'cause it's(the whole one) got a cooked top end. Might, maybe, possibly be able to do a jug.

this is poly the wrong place but here goes.
My Shiny 500 Started cutting today fine, it then started to bog down in the cut, this got worse and worse until it now bogs down then stalls. So idles fine, pull the trigger it reeves up then just dies. It seems to be harder to start.
Playing with the high speed jet does not help.
did not even get through 1/2 a tank.
Have read that fuel can be a problem, fuel was 3 moths old, and this was the first day of cutting in 3 months, that said the saw emptied and run dry prior to storage.
I orderd a carb kit today as the saw is new to me and I have no idea when it was last serviced.
Will try new fuel tomorrow.
Any other ideas?

Pull the muffler and take a look at the piston to be sure it is not scored.

I think someone had it apart. Either did rings or rings and a piston. Put it back together with a gasket delete and Indian head sealant. Jugs not scored just the piston. Scratching my head a little here.

Just picked this up. It was the first saw I used other than a poulan s25cva. My pap and I bought it new. He's gone, but when gma asked if I wanted it it quickly went in my cart and came home. I'll likely go over it before running it. It's definitely my most sentimental saw as of yet. We cut a lot of wood together.... me, pap and this shinny

Well now. Cylinder bore was 50.95. The piston measured 50.19. Mite sloppy. Rings were down to 1.24,the new ones are 2.09. The new Golf piston comes in at 50.89. This may tighten things up a bit.

Got her almost done. New seals and a carb rebuild. Lost a base gasket for a perfect .020" squish. All the rubber is in great shape as pap always ran av gas. I also ripped out the tube so I'll have to modify the cover yet. Should work pretty well.

Did yours have the fully adjustable carb already or did you have to put one on it? Mine had the epa non adjustable high side but I have installed a fully adjustable carb so that I can do some modifications when I have a little free time.
