Hmmm finish what should I do?

I received this nice axe as a raffle prize from @Cat 525.

I put the better part of an edge on it and am now looking at the original handle.







What should I do with it?

Clean it up with some naphtha and maybe light steel wool?

I hit a spot with this and am kinda digging the patina, what about the sticker?

Those stickers are a problem sometimes! I usually take em off, but some people like them. Glad you are enjoying that axe!

*s-word, now it’s sharp, probably cut my foot off. Don’t wanna drop this one.

Came with these nifty sheaths.

Some progress, not happy with the tan lines where the sticker was but what the hey. That glue was petrified.

Varnish from about an inch and a half down from the head is good, missing above that.

Wondering if I can blend some tru oil into the existing varnish. May tint a little for the tan line if it blends ok.

Might try to steel wool heck out of it. Or fine grit sandpaper. Maybe a real dark stain like walnut on the label part? That's the trouble about them.
