I store chains with the bars on the spike. No need to label unless you are forgetful. And if you are forgetful, zip tie the bars/matching chains together.

I ran out of room and had to build overflow. Should have just sold some stuff instead of increasing my footprint. Anyhow, repurposed some material I had laying around. The wire shelves are actually store displays.

Some progress.

2'x4' shelfs 5 high. Started the bench 24" deep by 88 1/2 long 40" tall. Gap on the right is where the other bench will go.

Not sure which direction I want to go under the bench. possibly try to find some 5 drawer tool boxes and build them in under the bench.

Or build/find some cabinets. Want to be able to hide the clutter :)

Big bench top is done. you can see the white corner trim started. Figure that will keep the sharp edges covered and stop things from rolling off. Have to decide where the legs are gonna go yet. Some progress feels good.

Bar/chain storage. 24x36 will fit up to a 30 inside. Plan on adding more pegs to the outside's for the long bars/chains. I'll put a sheet of osb on the door and pegs inside / out for more storage.

Thank you, going to do the same thing over the bench.

3 sections made from 1x4's. I have some steel peg board that will be made into the doors. 16x16x 7 when closed and 16x32x3.5 when open. Figure they can hold 90% of the saw tools along with misc nuts/bolts and small parts

I have my running saws in a shed that is only 8 x 12 with a bench big enough to work on one saw at a time. All of my not running saws stay at my fab shop, so before I bring them home to work on them I throw them in the parts cleaner.
I try to finish a saw as fast as possible, not rushing through it, but do I keep track of everything to stay focused on the build.
Here is my happy place :)image.jpeg

Now that the benches are in and level, it shows how far off the floor is. First bench along the far wall is 40" high, near end of the long bench is 43. :(

Not much I can do about it, good thing I used a level. I can just see a piston pin/bearing rolling all the way to the far end.

My biggest mistake when I converted my shed to a shop was the floor.
It has a plywood floor. While the shed was empty I should of put down VCT, and put a commercial finish on it.

I am still up in the air about putting epoxy on the floor.

The concrete has a fairly rough finish already, but no major crack's/heaves. Just the massive taper lol.

Guess I'll wait till it is all finished to decide.

Do it. You won't regret it. My shop floor has oil stains on the floor from leaking chainsaws.
I really wish I had done VCT or an epoxy finish.

Mostly any exterior porch paint will work (kind of), but I've never been a fan. Idk why.

Rustoleum or quickcrete epoxy garage floor paint are ok, but $100/gallon.

Haven't had good luck with 1 part epoxy garage floor paint

If you use an epoxy just remember prep is key and unfortunately the cheaper epoxies don't hold very well. Especially in shop conditions

Bar\chain cabinet is mostly finished. Plan on adding a block to help support the door weight when closed. I can fit 4 bars on each peg it needed. On the front door I left enough space to remove the lower bars without having to move the upper bars.
