So, I bought a 375K on ebay which supposedly had a scarred piston/cylinder and is low compression for 130 shipped. I needed a concrete saw for the house I'm working on so i figured it was a good buy since It shares parts with 371s and 372s. I also have a suspicion the crank bearings may be rough as well and will need to be replaced. I also know it's a limited coil.

Any information on these would be appreciated. Also does anyone know why the air filter cover is screwed on. Is it a stupid proof or is the filter different from 371xp?

Edit:Found out the difference on air filter. the Ks have an extra foam pre filter.

The filter system and ignition are far different from a 365/371/372 because it's a concrete saw designed to operate in construction/demolition conditions.

It shares a lot of parts with the 365/371/372. I would recommend rebuilding the bottom end - those ingest a lot of concrete dust which is hard on the bearings/seals.

What all is different on ignition? I read a conversion thread on another sight where a guy just threw in an aftermarket coil on it.

I bought one locally last year and rebuilt it. I would definitely do the bearings. If the filter isnt cleaned/maintained regularly they eat a lot of dust.

That's what I suspected, since the seller said there was piston scoring and low compression. I'm hoping the cylinder is fine and all i need beside bearings is a new piston and rings.

It's just a regular coil limited to 6500 rpm. Replace it with a regular black coil and you're good to go.

The plating was worn off on the intake side of the one I had
That’s pretty typical as well as crunchy bearings. Most users do not replace the filter. Some think it’s ok to just knock the excess concrete dust off and keep going which just pulls the imbedded dust (airborne sandpaper) through. Filters are expensive but have to be replaced frequently. Don’t go the AM route as most don’t seal well.

Plan on a full rebuild with any concrete saw. OEM top end kits are very reasonable as well as the SKF bearings. Go ahead and get a new clutch drum or at the very least replace the bearings in the clutch drum

She looks like a runner. Really it smells like someone had water in the gas. Or this thing was found at bottom of pond. Also do huskys have dimple in piston head...... DSC_0166.JPG

So yeah, looking at bearings they are fine. I'm pretty sure this thing was under water and they tried to get it started. Inside of crank smells like a penetrate.

The cylinder is savable. Just use sand paper to sand away the transfer and get new piston&rings.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I edited my last post to reflect my findings. This thing looks bearlly used. They usually look beat to hell.

Hm.. If you don't want to split the case, pull both crank seal out to examine the bearings. Seals are cheap insurance anyway.

How many base gaskets do huskys have? This thing has two on it.

I'm wondering if someone had this apart before.

Usually only one gasket. The topend kit is only a little more then the piston itself, imo it's not worth it to buy just the piston, I would also do bearings and seals, they are to cheap to regret it later on. If you need a top end let me know, I keep a spare here And I get good pricing.
