did you install the hl supply crank in the case? is that the one in the pix above? did you use the tool?

11.71 is a little small for the OD on the clutch side... 11.9 is the spec I think for proper m12x1.0 threads.

Yes I installed the HL Supply crank using your tool and everything went very smooth. The picture is the new crank in the case.

Interesting. ..the crank od threads is 11.7

The ID of the tool is around 11.54....interesting to know .15mm holds.

Very nice job

Still haven't ordered a new piston.

Should I just order a BB cylinder and piston to replace farmer tec or just get a new piston ?

Looking at a new west products from @Definitive Dave . Should I consider something else?

I'm planning on using the saw for milling and firewood. Probably only mill a few logs a year. This is one of three saws I have over 80cc. I cut 5-6 cords a year.

The new west that Randy used for his saw looked very nice...

The cross is WAY better than the farmer tech...

The cross needs little clean up and some better beveling.
With just a gasket delete it puts squish in the ballpark as well.
Just my .02

Careful with the gasket delete on the Cross. I have 4 jugs, 2 are just fine with gasket delete, 2 need the gasket, so always check first. The newer ones needed the gasket. The piston slaps w/o it.

I remember you posting something about that ....
The two I had were good.. although there was NO bevel on the bottom of the exhaust port and the roof is extremely flat for my taste...

Pic of (lack of) chamfer on exhaust port.(through plug hole)
Can't remember who had rings hang on the downstroke and busted out the piston crown...
But that was probably why!

You can always justify another saw.

Very true. Mine was way too close without the gasket.

You definitely have to check/add bevels and maybe radius to most of this Chinese stuff.
