First frost last night. Picked the last peppers and dug taters today.

No pics, but we got 6 feed sacks full of taters.

Not ready for frost here yet, I hope!!

Got the garden all packed up and put away for the winter. I'll hit it with the roto tiller next time I get the tractor out, then put that away for the winter and put the back blade on for snow removal.

Got a half acre of sweet corn in the ground last Friday with the old ancient farm machinery that I have here.

Nice Allis 4-row. We're getting ours warmed up for planting food plots and sweet corn soon. Grandpa bought it at the A/C dealer in '63, and has taken very good care of it. We even still have the fertilizer hoppers on top, and they are complete.

Thanks! It was a 6 30" row planter that I cut down many years ago. It is now set up to do 36" rows. I bought it back in 1978 to plant no-till beans. Had 3, 50 gallon tanks on it back then just for weight.

Well, it all toast now. We have been flooded out for over 3 weeks now. Not sure what to do with the sweet corn and sunflower fields yet. Other than try to replant again. Total of 5 acres, Very expensive.

+ 2 more inches today, I give up!! And raining as I type this at 11 09 pm.

Dang, sorry to hear that! We've been having the opposite problem until this week. We've been hurting for moisture. Some friends an hour north had only gotten a little over a tenth of an inch since the snow melted. Luckily we got two inches on Thursday night, which really helped.

Fugg! That really sucks!

Mother Nature is a fickle mistress.

The thunderstorms here that bring the hail have really hammered our watermelon, strawberry, and pepper starts. It has also knocked quite a bit of buds out of our apple tree.

Damn Charlie, I was looking forward to pics of the corn this fall.
Sorry to see the monsoon wipe things out.

The amount of rain you've been hit with is almost unbelievable. Hopefully the worst is over and you can start to dry out.
I saw some footage this morning from Winchester Virginia. Cars looked like they were driving through a lake.

How soon will you have to replant to expect a decent yield?

Replanted again, then the floods came again the last 3 days. Had over 3 inch's since Friday when corn and sunflowers were replanted. This field is now under water again.
