I was just talking with my wife and the subject of G forces came up, so we ran a few numbers out of curiosity.
A 3” chainsaw clutch at 15,000 rpm experiences almost 10,000 g’s. If one of the weights weighs 2 oz, it ends up weighing ~1,200 lbs! That’s crazy!!!
The chain experiences ~5,000 g’s as it goes around the rim.
