Those cast lead bullets don't hurt chain much...
That's right, lead won't really hurt a cutting chain.
Lead alloys used for bullet casting are actually softer than many hard woods.
I've even used a chainsaw to cut lead bars to size for the melting pot... touching-up the cutters afterwards weren't no different than touching-up after cutting oak.

Milling a bunch of pine this spring I had a similar experience. As I was going down the log on my second cut, progress seemed to slow a bit. I noticed and commented to my dad about the speed reduction. As we pulled off the slab, there were about 6-7 .22 bullets throughout. I thought the worse had just happened to my only milling chain. After inspection, it didn't do any damage, just blunted it a little.

Obviously that happened decades ago when the tree was much smaller.Perhaps 20 years by ring count.

I've never found a bullet with a saw. (that I know of) I've found lots of other stuff. In fact, I am going to start a thread for people to post their "finds" of foreign objects in trees.
