Did some more milling with the Flying Tiger today, and she did just fine. After making a flat edge with my MMWS 066 (Timberjig Attached) I made 4 more 2+1/4" thick 7.5' long Hickory boards today (up to 16" wide) with the Tiger.

The cuts don't take that long, but she needs to be refueled after every 2 cuts. She is not bone dry empty, but does not have enough for a 3rd cut. This is dead, dry, Pig Nut Hickory, really tough stuff, so I'm really pleased how she went through it.

I also leaned the saw out a bit today, I had purposely left it a bit rich for break in. Now my HL Supply Tach was showing 13,680 several times. Don't want it any leaner than that for milling!

Also discovered that the Timber Jack is an excellent tool for removing the bark before you even get started. Just put that point between the bark and the wood and work it length wise, and it really gets you started. That Hickory bark is tough as nails, figured no use milling it! Besides, when you peel it, it catches the saw dust and gives you a smooth surface to kneel on while milling!

Good job there Mike!

Milled 4 more Hickory Boards today, and she is still going strong!

All done with the Hickory, the big Red Oak will be next. Will need the 36" bar for that one.

I'm hoping that if there is anything defective that it "goes early", and that if nothing goes early I'll get to enjoy this thing for a while!

For an AM saw that initially had the carb float valve leaking fuel, she is now remarkably well mannered. Still feels like she has a ton of compression, but starts easily, and always on just one pull when warm, and she idles w/o any problems. Important stuff when you are milling.

After cutting each board, I always shut it down for a few minutes. Gives the saw a chance to cool down, and me a chance to recover from being in a crunched up position! One pull re starts, and an idle that does not stall, are just nice!

I wonder how many people will get them who do not know how to resolve the carb issue, and will just write them off as junk when they really just need some TLC!

I cut a couple rounds out of my metering spring in my carb and it fixed my idling issue. It works great now!

Just pics so far, I will have to do one of those, and remind the guy not to rotate the camera while he is filming!

65 N still Alive!!! Went for a hike today and wore out 2 Grandsons and 2 Dogs!

First pic is Storm King Mtn (across the Hudson) and Cornwall & Stewart Airport to the North.

Second Pic is Break Neck Ridge and Bannerman Island. Granite from Breakneck was used for the Brooklyn Bridge, West Point, and the Steps of the Capital Building in Albany. Bannerman's Island stored firearms and ammo for an NYC Army & Navy store pre gun control act of 1964.

Third Pic is ruins of a house that was along Millionaires Row (along the Hudson North of Cold Spring). The pool is in back of me, and the old Green House up the hill. The concrete driveways from the early 1900s still survives, with a curb.

Milled up the remaining Red Oak yesterday with the help of my MMWS ported 066 and the Flying Tiger. Was very pleased with how both saws performed. Forgot to change the sprocket on the 066 from 8 to 7 pin, but even with the 8 pin sprocket, that 066 pulled real nice, Randy built me an nice little beast.

The Flying Tiger was wearing the 36" B&C, a full comp RS ... I dropped the rakers a bit and converted it to square file. Milled 6 - 7.5" Red Oak boards up to 23" thick with it w/o sharpening, so I was very pleased with how it did.

Used the 066 with my Timberjig to get the initial flat surface, then used the 066 & Timberjig to mill the shorter piece into 4" thick blocks that I will use for legs. Saw had most of the 24" bar buried, and pulled great even with the 8 pin.

Now I just have to get about 2 more cord of fire wood off the property by Friday.

First pic is cut made with 066, followed by boards milled with Flying Tiger.

Last Pic shows 4" thick pieces milled with 066 that I will use for legs.

Let me tell you, does not matter if it is a shorter 4" thick piece, or a 7.5' X 2" X 23" piece of Red Oak, they get very heavy! Glad I had someone to help me move them into the trailer. No so bad for the two of us.

Sure! Still got a White Oak log and Sugar Maple that need milling!

The only issue I've been having since I got it running is trying to get the darn Fuel cap to stop leaking. I just ordered a few new ones hoping I can fix it. Other than that, I think is saw is going to be with us for a while!

I bought an AM (Huztl) one for my real 066 and it does not leak a drop! Instead of a flat gasket, it came with an O ring.

Will see what comes this time, but OEM may not be a bad idea!

Those flat-cut orings i think are the issue. I swapped my original that leeked for the "spare" that came in my kit and after only a couple times on and off it ends up all bunched up and squished out from under the cap.
