First post and I am already asking for help

I have a Husqvarna 272xp that I have owned since it was new. Great saw but I am having a devil of a time finding an air filter for it. It uses the HD filter. Apparently there was another filter option for this saw that used a housing but I don’t know if it is adaptable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome and yes the HD filter is NLA but your in luck the owner of this fine forum has a replacement in the making. As for what to do in the mean time you'll have to find another elbow to attach a new filter too.

Unless you can find a nos or good used one somewhere.
They are rare
Hl supply might be in the process of making aftermarket but they are not available yet.
Personally i would convert it to the more common
Air filter type until one shows up.

Thread I did on the prototype filter being made.
A 266 or 288 neck and filter is the most inexpensive route to hold you over.
