Last year we bought an old house with over 110 years and a garden which was untouched the last 15 years.

So after renovating inside first we now started at the garden this year. And for now I can make firewood of what is grown too big, like this 12m Tuja

I have a hydraulic log splitter but if the wood is not too twisted I prefer the axe

Cutting some of the firs which stand too tight around the border of my garden

Holder ED2 (2-stroke diesel, 500cc 10hp) to transport the firewood

too small to burn? Feed for the chipper to fill the holes into the ground

a few apple trees have to be cut too

now my timberyard is full (each quarter has about 5m³)

this part is for the upcoming winter, mainly cherry wood and hazelnut

though it's not the time to stoke the oven but soon the firewood goes there.
It's a water-bearing oven with 4KW into the air and 10 KW into the water.

So that's it.
Very nice stacks!

Got about 10 buckets of rounds cut/picked up around the house, it was a mix of black locust, cherry, and red oak. I put all the locust on the ground and the rest on top of it so it doesn't rot. I also hand split a bucket, not sure why lol, but I did it.

Here's the new green round storage. I just finished cleaning it out, it had a bunch of previously dead standing white oak, it was a little soft around the edge so lots of work to split. I added two more loads of locust to this before I started putting the other loads on top. No pictures of the rest on it, it got dark quick and early tonight.

Woodshed is getting full on one side. All the wood for the other side is within 20 ft of the woodshed.

Here's some black locust I bucked up tonight. It was pretty twisted up where it was forced over in the storm we got two weeks ago. I knew it had stress fractures, didn't know how bad, I'll only need to split a few pieces and that's only if I want to.
Managed to clean up 5 large buckets of rounds tonight and also bucked a couple stems into 5 logs, and a few rounds for firewood I haven't picked up yet.

Pictures don't do it justice. Took a half day off work to drop, cut and haul this out. Big standing dead elm or something else real hard (no bark and I'm not a tree expert). And a big oak trunk I found on my way to the one standing.

Should put me where I want to be for the winter. Maybe...... See what the stack looks like after it's worked up.

Looks like elm to me Steve.
Now where's the pictures of the suburban hauling all that in one load :b1:.
I just ran a tank thru the 550 mk2 at my parents on the white oak. It looks like I can get two decent logs out of it so there aren't many more cuts to be made on it, not sure how I'm gonna get them on the trailer with my little Kubota .
Much like in your pictures it doesn't look like much, that 18" bar won't make to many more cuts from one side, 70cc saw when I go back for the stem.

Hahahaha hard for me to admit :( but I actually had to use the truck to haul the trailer and make four trips. This was way back off the road and required more ground clearance and much more aggressive tires. Would have waited until the ground froze, but that wasn't a option this time. Had to get it out or wait until mid January. Luckily I only got stuck one time and was able to back out (down hill) and get more momentum for a second try :headbang:. Was going to be a long walk back to get the tractor!

I'm sure there will be some good burb hauls once the ground freezes and the plow is back on the truck.
