Well got her done. Did all the reccomend oem upgrades. 42" forester bar. Hydro dipped flaming dice theme. She fires up and rips. I will take it easy cutting some logs for a few tanks while heat cycling a break in. Then will mount it to my mill and get to slabbing.IMG_20180406_184855.jpg IMG_20180325_140710.jpg IMG_20180325_140724.jpg IMG_20180325_140643.jpg IMG_20180325_140738.jpg

Thanks fellas
I did the wj76 walbro carb, oem wrist pin clips and bearing, hi output oiler, husqvarna Decomp valve, lathed a bit off the cylinder, gasket less, cleaned up all ports and beveled edges better so nothing is sharp, beveled and cleaned up all flashing on piston. I think that's about it. Stock timing right now. I want a baseline stock setup first then add a tuned pipe built with specs for milling. Then I can see what temps do and hp over stock. Not sure I am going to advance timing as this is intended to be a milling saw.

Yes been running it a bit over the last 2 days. Off and on nothing major just cutting regular logs. Just get it tuned well and through the break in period. Then its game on for milling with it.

Looks awesome!!

For milling i would be concerned about air filtration, maxflow kit would be my recommendation...

Not sure if Mike is running AM setup or ???

I had no problem with using either the AM filter, or an HD-2, but I was not milling with them all day long.

Would basically just mill for a few hours, then take the saws home, sharpen the chains and clean the filters, etc.

I'm sure the max flow will give you more air flow, and longer time between clean ups, but for what I was doing the standard filters were just fine.

For me it is a hobby, so I don't push things too much. I'm looking forward to milling some Tulip this year, should be a lot easier than the Oak + Hickory. I may get access to Tulip in 2 different locations. One leg of one came down in a storm, and the other leg needs to be dropped, and another person (almost related by marriage) wants some large ones dropped. I still have to look at them to see if I'm comfortable with doing it.

I ran mine for one day on a tree job and couldn't believe how dirty the filter got, I would assume a nice long cut milling would funky it up pretty quick!

After the cutting was done the filter was pretty clogged up...
Half rotten maple dropped on top was butchered as well but no pics after as it was dark.

I'm sure it is....
I actually built it for a friend but I ran a couple gallons thru it, then took it to Randy's GTG and ran it in class 1 in the chinee build off..
If it wasn't I'm sure I would have heard about it.
