I’d pick a Super EZ and the 910e for the first round.

my first saw when I was 10. Jonsred 601 i think? Got to use dad 042 once in a while too. Dad still has em and they still run good!

Very nice Red,
I ran a 601 briefly years back, the way that rear handle is lined up with the b/c makes them real accurate for cutting cookies in a power saw race.
It was either Tom or Alex Bildeaux out of Minnesota who cleaned up year after year in the 1970's with a modified Jonsereds 601. They were big fans of Carlton chain too.

I already have a 70E and if I ever find another Jonsereds 621 that would be my vintage pair

View attachment 140396 View attachment 140397 Just for the sake of friendly discussion I wonder if anyone has a favorite pair of vintage saws they like to put to work? For me a nice 52e and 70e pair up well. Wish I had a nice 90 for the triple crown...
Very nice Marc and a great thread you started here.
I had a 90 once and one of the toughest saws I ever owned.
I know wheres one owned by a retired school teacher. He bought it off a logger who had just bought it brand new in the late 1970s. The logger broke both his legs so needed some cash while healing up.
Seen it a few years ago working and still runs perfect with not a scratch on it. Decals all still intact.

I've got a beautiful 621 (saw in my signature photo) without a scratch that I'd trade for a 90 in similar condition. Think you could talk him out of it? Haha

I like an sp81 and sp125 combo
Or homelite 550-750 combo
Or o56-090g
I have a pm6, mini xl homelite and a 020av top handles that could change my mind, but surprise they have issues...hopefully I will make decent runners out of them....but they aren’t priorities

Stihl 009 becuase its a top handle and strong torque little monster(little slow but useful) and does 064-66 count as vintage? If niether counts then a homelite 150, super EZ or super ez 2 and a super duper 1050. Love my 1050 but I must not be as manly as the good ole boys bucause after 3 days of use,I need a week of recovery. Then weekend warrior time starts again.
