Anyone have issues with the pre-installed AM throttle cable being too long?
Any ideas how to shim this?
Not getting full throttle

I have an idea......
What if I sacrifice an old cable.
I’ll cut the sheath on the sacrificial cable to the length required. Split it with a razor blade and slip the cable through the split. Then I’ll place the new “shim” on the downside where the cable sheath enters the plastic bracket.
Follow me?

Might be a pain, but how about 3 or 4 small machine screw split washers opened up enough to slip the cable in then pinched closed and flat?? Wouldn't need to sacrifice any cables that way.

I don’t think I have any lock washers that small.
It would have to be a real small washer.
4-40 or smaller prolly.
The cable isn’t being used anyway. It’s been sitting on a basket case 5100s for 3yrs now.

Mine was messed up inside the handle itself. It's worth checking out. It all made since when I took mine apart. Edit I was able to use the supplied cable once hooked up correctly.

I’m not taking this tank back off.
I checked it out good before I installed it and made sure it was seated in the trigger properly.
His other 372 had a busted cable and that was fun! But I used an OEM cable on that one. So when I replaced the tank on this one, I made sure to pay special attention to that. I’m 99% sure the lead is simply misplaced on the cable.
Customer needs it ASAP and I’m sick of looking at it. It’s been here since late January/early February and I’m sick of listening to him complain.
I told him he shoulda just bought an OEM tank but he didn’t wanna spend the $.
Now he’s gonna spend that $ in labor for me to polish this turd

I've noticfed sometimes when I'm switching from an hd to an rwj carb, I need to remove about 1/16" of sheath so there's enough slack to idle. Guessing you may have the opposite going on.
Also, I've taken up slack on 395's by loosening the carb bolts and tilting the carb to the right while tilting the cable holder to the left and re-tightening the bolts

A small fishing split shot on the cable to provide the shim(?) Or is that not viable?
