Who is finding them? What kinds? How many?

Most everyone loves morels but who here likes fall mushrooms.
If I could only have one of either morels or cauliflower, that would be a hard choice.

Sulfur Shelf, Buttons and Cauliflower are up here the past week or so.

Picked these this afternoon,

Left around 3 dozen to grow a bit bigger.
There will be more coming on in the next few weeks.

Freezer is already full for this year since Saturday, so all the rest will be given away to friends and those that can't find the time or have nowhere to hunt.

I seen some red tops and purple ones growing also.

I'll have to snap a pic of some I've been eyeballing. Pretty sure it's some big chicken of the woods.

I had a fungus the other day a friend brought over that he called "old man's beard" Fantastic stuff. Browned it on either side in olive oil. Little salt to taste. Best fungus I've had.
He scored some chicken the other day. Said it was even better. I have read that chicken can give some people an upset stomach.

Nope, get them when they are bright orange. When they start loosing color they will be full of very tiny white worms.
Lay them on a newspaper bottom side up and you will know in no time if they are wormy.
I put them in the freezer till my mom got home to confirm edibility. Worms are just protein right?

I found these growing in the yard at work.

Are they good or not so good?

Shaggy manes, very good, but you have to cook themquick after picking them. A day or so and you have a puddle of black ooze.

I just learned what those are, I threw away 10 pounds of those, they come back every year in my yard. I will not tell someone a shroom is eatable unless I am 200% sure.
