I️t was back-leaning a bit so I️ tried that trick I️ learned on the Intertube.

Turns out it works.

That looks like some kind of neat trick. Can you explain it? Looks like you took a section out from the middle of the backside and stacked some wedges to create lift? If so, what’s the advantage?

It was Back leaning smaller diameter tree: around 15”. Rather than a 1/3rd face, I cut more shallow face, then stuck the bar thru the heart to give me a wedging area.

Set my wedges, & started easing my back cut in about 3” high, tightening my wedges every so often, watching the crown.

I left a heavy hinge & kept wedging until the tree went over Center towards the intended fall area, & viōla.

The header says 6-12” trees, but it worked good with these 15-18” trees.

With that groove in there...as long as the holding wood holds...there is only one place for that tree to go!! Nicely done

Yessir.

When there are things that need not be hit, it’s either that or a rope, or climb it & piece it down.

That way looked more straight forward.
