125 may be about right for a saw that has some hours on it. My experience has been that alot of sub-40cc saws blow about that much new. As I remember, my CS-3000 was around 135 psi after a total rebuild. It may be higher now that it has broken in some. If it runs well I wouldn't worry about it.

Does anyone know if the spline size on 600/620s rim drives are the same as a large spline husky or is it different

I would assume it’s the same as the other manufacturers.

You need an 8 pin?

I have an 8 pin I tried. I like the 7 better. Just wondered if it would fit a 298 or 394? Before I remove the stinkin outboard clutch.

I'm impressed with mine too. Haven't cut anything that big, but it's done a great job in everything I've put it in.

Just a saw for saw experience I had; I dropped & cut up 4 trees on a suburban acre block yesterday. 2 River Red Gum saplings, one about 10-12M tall, the other about 18-20M tall, both very skinny. The taller one was about a foot DBH & had grown right next to the house (thus it's removal), plus a Red Flowering Gum sapling about 5M tall that had grown through the washing line & then a mature Melaleuca, which was the hardest to cut. I used both of my Echo top handles to get the job done, both saws were wearing 14" Echo bars, with a brand new bar & Oregon .050 3/8LP chain on the 355TES. The saw in my profile picture had an old bar & reground Stihl chain on it. Both saws are muffler modded. No other mods. The saw in my profile picture has well over a 1,000 hours on it & has no compression left to speak of. It still pops 2nd pull & runs like a champ. The 355 has less than 200 hours on it, probably closer to 150. They both performed extremely well, until the Melaleuca. The 355 simply lacked the torque to get through the larger cuts without bogging. When cutting, the chain was throwing nice chips, but the saw kept bogging, almost to a stall. I would have picked up a bigger saw, but didn't have one with me. So the old saw did the job, with minimal bogging. I've had similar problems in thick Melaleuca with other saws before, it's hard, wet wood. I've probably been spoiled with the older saw though, it has been an absolute ripper!

I just had a thought! Maybe I stuffed up the muffler mod on the 355TES? I'll pull the muffler off the old saw & put it on the 355 & see how it goes.

Do any of you fellas know of common issues with the cs490 ?
I know a Carver by me that's been through 4 of them and says they never wanna start when warm..I put a good tune on it and gave it a muffler mod with no change.

Mine might take a couple more pulls than my 400’s but never trouble with it. Mines muff mod and tuned. Reread your post. When warm it always fires on first pull.

She said among the people she carves with this isn't uncommon with the 490.

Reread what part ?

I got two small Echos to get ready for the fall and winter. Would anyone have a service manual for the 351VL? Hoping if I canDSCF2335.JPG DSCF2336.JPG get a manual it would be close enough to the 302S. Sorry to expand all my pics but I can't see.

Only time I had trouble with hot starts I left the saw sit in the sun for an hour while running another saw. Other then that starts first pull when hot.
