@dahmer how's that red97 ported 590 run? I tried to get him to do my 490 but he's busy with life and work. He's reall got the Echos figured out.
My tach puked, waited a week for a new tach and got it tuned. Sounds really healthy. Everything around here is a swamp between snow melt and rain. Hope to get it out tonite or tomorrow for some test cuts. I’ll keep you updated.

It wouldn't be such a problem except that gas engines just don't do well sitting for months or years at a time. Even with stabilized 100% dino gas problems develop.

I have a bunch of guns I seldom or never shoot. They are clean, oiled, and kept in the safe in my climate controlled house. I know they aren't going to deteriorate any time soon. Even if the wife would let me keep the saws in the house, I would have disassemble them and scrub every bit of old gas out of them to prevent deterioration, not exactly practical. At least, not practical being a dad, working, and having other time consuming hobbies!
That’s one good thing about echos they will about crank on swamp mud. I found a smaller grey style rear handle in my grandads old shop. The gas smelled like rotten gear dope. I washed it Out put new gas in it. A few pulls and she popped.

I noticed a few threads back bar mounts were mentioned. I have seen people run husky bars on 590,600s but i tried on of my husky bars on mine and it had a decent amount of play in it. Do they make adapters like going to a Stihl bar.

Don' know about adaptors for husky bars. Iv run old Poulan bars on the 590 with no issues. My 490 uses a 2300 bar for the 3/8lp setup. I plan on trying a ko95 bar on the 490 to see if I can calm the bar oil use down some.

I need some feedback on the Echo cs 670. Bore, stroke, the good, the bad and the ugly. Pic of the jug inside would be great. What do you guys think could done to improve power besides port work and a bigger carb?

Is the 680 the replacement for the 670? I was at the Echo dealer today and saw a 680 for the first time and I thought it was an 800 at first lol.

A bit like a high compression small block at idle. There were other ported saws there of different brands but you always knew when one of the pair of ported 590s was running.
