Does your spur drive show any signs of ware? The one on my 590 looks to be holding up very well. If I ever ware it out I'll probably go rim to.

It has some initial wear but hasn’t shown much since then. Probably only have about 20 tanks through the saw so far though so not sure how much of an indicator that will be for future use.

I thought all 590s had the rim setup.

They have spur sprockets. 600/620s have run sprockets.

I would think it would be cheaper to just make all rim sprockets across the line, but I guess it’s something to differentiate between the 600/620 besides just a small power increase and metal handles (unlimited coil for 620 and full wrap option)

620 has a slightly bigger carb to. 620 coil also has 8* more timing advance also. I' like to have the carb and coil for my ported 590 but the price is to steep. Iv spent some time picking Joe red97s brain. The little things add up on the 620.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind the coil and carb either. Not sure how much they would add to a muffler modded 590 but if they were cheap I wouldn’t mind trying lol

Really love how my basically stock one runs though I’m completely content with it, just wouldn’t mind a real full wrap and the rim sprocket one day

Have you seen @Czed cheap full wrap conversion?

And I think Joe said it once if you are going to get one of these ported start with the 620.

Yes I may seriously consider one after a while. Want to see if it’s my technique for bore cutting first. I guess standing on the opposite side isn’t too bad just don’t like having my back to the falling area in case I accidentally cut too far.

Also eventually wouldn’t mind sending my muffler to someone who can braze to put some front facing pipes on it and seal up the top outlet. Not sure what that costs though.

Thanks I’ll hit him up when funds get a little free and I’m not using it so much

That’s nice! Do they put a screen in it? Don’t really worry too much about the sparks because I don’t cut when it’s too dry, but don’t want bugs setting up in there lol.

My ported 620 seems to like it about 13500-13800 depending on the weather

I think I read somewhere where it is limited to 13.5k? Mine is tuned around 12.2k
It’s a little rich still. It kinda goes from 4 stroking to clean in the cut but I’m ok with that.

Yah 13.5 limit. The extra timing from the 620 coil is what interests me. My ported 590 doesn't get to the limiter.
